BU women's soccer drops conference opener at Boston 3-0

Box Score

BOSTON - Host Boston University scored twice in the game's opening 17 minutes and went on to a 3-0 win over Binghamton University Sunday afternoon from Nickerson Field.

The Terriers struck just 4:22 into the contest off a corner kick and added a second goal at the 16:34 mark off another corner kick. Boston finished the scoring with a third tally early in the second half.

"We commited two mental errors early in the game but other than that, I was really pleased with our play," head coach Sarah McClellan said. "We kept possession well. It was one of our best performances this season against a good team. I don't think the score was indicative of the quality of play.

"I was happy with our midfield play," McClellan continued. "Mandi (Casares), Emily (Pape) and Brittany (Walsh) did a great job and are starting to connect."

The Bearcats next travel to Albany on Thursday for a league game against the Great Danes.
