BOSTON -- Second-seeded Boston University (10-6-3) scored a goal in each half and blanked sixth-seeded Binghamton (3-12-4) 2-0 in an America East semifinal game Sunday afternoon from Nickerson Field. The defeat, one week after an identical 2-0 loss to the Terriers in the regular season finale, ends Binghamton's season just short of the conference title game.
The host Terriers scored in the 31st minute when Marisha Schumacher-Hodge found the net from close range. Boston then added an insurance goal from Casey Brown in the 58th minute. Boston outshot Binghamton 15-11.
Sophomore keeper Jen McEachron (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) made four saves.
