VESTAL, N.Y. - Junior keeper Kristie Bowers (Rochester, N.Y.) has grabbed another regional honor after a stellar week between the pipes. One day after being selected as America East Women's Soccer Player of the Week, Bowers was chosen as Eastern CollegeAthletic Conference (ECAC) Goalkeeper of the Week. The ECAC is comprised of 85 schools and Player of the Week nominations come from conference winners and independent nominations. Bowers is featured on the conference's web site in an action photo.
She allowed just one goal in two games for the Bearcats, lowering her goals against average to 0.83. Her play helped Binghamton go 1-0-1 and clinch a spot in the upcoming conference tournament.
At Maine on Sunday, Bowers made 13 saves for her seventh shutout of the season. The shutout was her fourth in the last six games.
