Women's soccer falls to Buffalo 3-1

Box score

LEWISTON, N.Y.-- Junior Brooke McCalla netted a pair of goals and Andrea Vescio had a pair of assists to lead Buffalo past Binghamton 3-1 in women's soccer action Saturday at the Niagara University Fall Classic

Binghamton (0-2-1) outshot their upstate New York counterparts 16-13, but the Bulls snapped a 1-1 tie in the 33rd minute on the first of two goals from the junior forward. McCalla added an insurance goal at the 65:00 mark to create the final margin.

The teams traded first-half blows with Buffalo tallying first at the 1:37 mark. Senior forward Danielle White (Haddon Township, N.J.) tied the score less than 10 minutes later with her second goal of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Iman (Bel Air, Md.) made three saves in a losing effort for the Bearcats, who continue six-game road trip to begin the 2007 campaign with a match Sunday against tournament host Niagara University at 1 p.m.
