Women's Soccer
Bearcats ink second high school standout within a week

The Binghamton women’s soccer team has received a national letter of intent from high school standout Sara Cicalo (Blauvelt, N.Y.), a goalie from Tappan Zee High School. She will join the Bearcats for the 2002 season.

Cicalo was named to the all-area and all-section teams three times. She was also named all-state. In addition, Cicalo has been a member of the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program (ODP).

“Sara is an extremely talented and gifted goalkeeper,” said Binghamton head coach Jeff Leightman. “She is a very explosive athlete who can make the big save when called upon. Hopefully we will see her between the pipes for a long time to come.”

Cicalo is the second high school player this week to sign a letter of intent to play for Binghamton. She joins midfielder/defender Meghan Taylor (Campbell Hall, N.Y.), who signed last Thursday.
