Immediate Release: September 14, 2004 Sophomore keeper Kristie Bowers (Rochester, N.Y.) helped preserve the tie with a brilliant save midway through the second overtime period. Bowers, who recorded five saves for her second consecutive shutout, has not allowed a goal in 264:51 straight minutes. She blanked St. John's in the second half of the September 5 game, and then posted a shutout over Lehigh on September 10. "It was a back-and-forth game," head coach Jeff Leightman said of Tuesday's contest. "A 0-0 tie was probably a just result." Cornell outshot the Bearcats 14-12. Binghamton plays two home games in three days this weekend, beginning with a 4 p.m. Friday tilt against Fairleigh Dickinson. |
