BU women's soccer falls 2-1 to Florida International

Box score

MIAMI -- Host Florida International (1-1-1) rallied for a 2-1 victory over scored Binghamton (0-4-1) Thursday night from University Park. The Bearcats held a 1-0 halftime lead before surrendering two second-half goals.

Binghamton jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 4:51 into the contest when senior midfielder Tricia Reed (Oswego, N.Y.) drilled a 30-yard shot that eluded the Golden Panthers' keeper.

But the Golden Panthers knotted the score in the 66th minute and added the game winner in the 76th minute. Reed nearly produced a second goal when her corner kick header banked off the cross bar in the 68th minute. But the Bearcats were limited to four shots in the final 45 minutes and suffered the team's third straight defeat.

Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Iman (Bel Air, Md.) recorded six saves.

Binghamton concludes its two-game Florida swing with a game at ACC member University of Miami Sunday afternoon.
