It also was the first shutout the Bearcats have recorded this season. "This was a good win for us," head coach Jeff Leightman said. "We were more organized than we have been and our back eight played well on defense. Lehigh is a good team so to get the win today was good for us." After a scoreless first half, freshman midfielder Maria Krug (Norwich, Conn.) fed the ball to the left of the goal where O'Shaughnessy put it off the far post to decide the game in the 60th minute. The Bearcats were outshot 16-13 but did not surrender the tying goal. Sophomore keeper Kristie Bowers (Rochester, N.Y.) made six saves to record her first shut out of the season. Binghamton returns to action Tuesday night at Cornell. |
