Box Score

NEWARK, N.J. - Binghamton women's soccer (2-1) scored once in each half and blanked host New Jersey Institute of Technology 2-0 Sunday night from Lubetkin Field.

Freshman forward AnnMarie Rizzi put the Bearcats on the board in the fourth minute, netting her second goal of the season. Classmate Taylor Kucharski and junior midfielder Amanda Casares drew assists on the play.

Seniors Charlotte Foster and Kim Thomas teamed up for BU's final goal, with Foster beating the keeper high from 18 yards out.

"We challenged the girls with a tough weekend on the road and it was nice to get a shutout today," head coach Sarah McClellan said. "Now we have a whole week to prepare for our next game and we will get after it in training."

Junior keeper Jen McEachron needed to make just two saves for the Bearcats, who outshot their hosts 15-3.

The Bearcats next play at Holy Cross next Sunday afternoon.
