VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer freshman midfielder Emily Pape has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Pape scored two game-winners to keep the surging Bearcats red-hot. She tallied the lone goal in 1-0 victories over Hartford and Maine and now has scored in three consecutive games. Pape ranks sixth in the America East in scoring.
"I'm really happy for Emily to be recognized," head coach Sarah McClellan said. "She's really been making a difference for us - obviously on the scoreboard but also with her all-around play. It's a well-deserved honor for her and for all the players around her."
The Bearcats (6-5-1), winners of six of their last eight games, play at Ivy League member Penn Wednesday night before returning home to host UMBC Sunday afternoon.
