Binghamton loses at Stony Brook 2-0

STONY BROOK, N.Y.--The Binghamton women's soccer team's seven-game unbeaten streak came to an end last night, as host Stony Brook scored a pair of second-half goals and went on to a 2-0 win. The Bearcats record is now 8-3-2 (2-1-1 in the America East Conference.

"We had our chances in the first half but they controlled the action in the second half," head coach Jeff Leightman."

Jennifer Fontanetta broke a scoreless tie for the Seawolves 12 minutes into the second half off a feed from Jacqueline Anthony. Fontanetta beat Binghamton keeper Lauren Cherry to the upper right corner of the net from 18 yards out.

Stony Brook added a second score with a little less than 17 minutes to play when Katelyn Martin cleaned up a rebound off Danielle Lewis' shot.

The Bearcats were outshot 10-2 in the second half, 16-6 for the game.
