SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Host Syracuse (3-3-2) scored once in each half - both on set pieces - and blanked Binghamton (4-2-1) Sunday afternoon.
The Bearcats, who hadn't surrendered a first-half goal all season, gave up their first goal just one minute into the contest off a corner kick. Syracuse then tallied an insurance goal in the 65th minute when BU keeper keeper Jen McEachron was knocked down on a free kick.
"We had 11 healthy players," head coach Sarah McClellan said. "I thought we played excellent in the second half and actually controlled the run of play."
McEachron made nine saves for the Bearcats, who host Niagara on Wednesday.
