Mathelier earns Soccer Buzz all-region honors

Binghamton women's soccer defender Tatiana Mathelier (Pomona, N.Y./Saddle River Day, N.J.) has garnered her second all-region honor following a standout junior season. Already holding NSCAA all-region honors, Mathelier earned third-team all-region honors from Soccer Buzz. It was the third straight year Binghamton has had a player selected for the honor. Graduating forward Tracy Kasmarcik received second-team honors in both 2002 and 2002.

Mathelier anchored a BU back line that produced seven shutouts and a 1.79 goals against average in 2003. A forward in her first two collegiate seasons, Mathelier added the game-winning goal against Stony Brook and chipped in two assists. The Bearcats (9-8-2) advanced to the ECAC tournament after securing the program's 17th consecutive winning season.
