BU women's soccer completes 2008 coaching staff
VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton women's soccer team has completed its coaching staff for the 2008 season. Matt Dunn has been hired as the full-time assistant while Elke Reisdorph will be the part-time assistant. The moves were both announced by first-year head coach Sarah McClellan.
Dunn is no stranger to the BU Athletic Department. He was the part-time men's soccer assistant coach in 2004 and 2005. The Bearcats advanced to the America East finals both seasons. Dunn left to complete his master's degree at SUNY Buffalo before becoming the assistant coach for the Cornell women's soccer team last fall.
"Matt has extensive experience working with student-athletes in both the men's and women's collegiate environments," McClellan said. "His emphasis on academics and his outright competitive intensity are a perfect fit for our program. Matt is a tremendous addition to our staff and will have an immediate positive impact on our program."
Reisdorph was the top assistant coach at Hartwick College in 2007. Before then, she was instrumental in the Kenyon College women's soccer program as well as coaching at the youth premier levels for the Virginia Rush Soccer Club.
"We are fortunate to have someone of Elke's caliber join our staff," McClellan said. "She possesses a great soccer mind and the teaching ability to go along with it. Elke will be an asset in our program's future successes and upward rise."
