For Immediate Release: March 27, 2007 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Altinay named America East Conference Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week VESTAL, N.Y. -- Senior Zeynep Altinay (Ankara, Turkey) has been named the America East Conference Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week for March 19-25. She shares the award with Kim Weltman of Albany. Altinay swept both of her singles and doubles matches this past weekend, sparking Binghamton (8-1, 1-0 AE) to a pair of wins. Against Hartford, she defeated Stephanie Schnobel 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and won her match at third doubles. The following day against Quinnipiac, she rallied to defeat Mary Wilson 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 singles and won for the second time in a row at No. 3 doubles. Altinay has now won a school record 81 singles matches during her career.
