For Immediate Release: April 18, 2007 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Altinay named America East Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week Conference Release VESTAL, N.Y.-- Senior Zeynep Altinay (Ankara, Turkey) has been named the America East Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for April 9-15. It marks the second time this season and fourth time in her career that she has earned the weekly accolade. Altinay, who improved her career singles record to 85-27, defeated Alice Chen 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 slot. In doubles play she joined freshman Erica Rosenblum (Albany, N.Y.) at the second slot to defeat Adriana Fonseca-Villarreal and Elizabeth Anderson 8-5. Altinay shared the award with Kim Weltman of Albany for March 19-25. Binghamton is scheduled to host Albany on Saturday at 11 a.m.
