BU loses to Coastal Carolina 6-1
Senior Yulia Smirnova picks up team's lone point at third singles

CONWAY, S.C. -- The Binghamton University women's tennis team (5-7) fell to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 6-1 in a dual match Tuesday afternoon. The match was the third straight in as many days for the Bearcats.

Senior Yulia Smirnova tallied the team's lone point with a straight-set win at third singles. Junior Jillian Santos fell in a close battle at second singles that needed a third set to decide the match.

Juniors Marina Bykovskaya and Emma Leibowicz remained unbeaten as a third doubles tandem, posting a 9-8 (7-4) victory. Bykovskaya and Leibowicz are a perfect 4-0 together in the third doubles slot.

The Bearcats will have their first day off in three days and will compete again Thursday against USC State at 1 p.m.
