VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton women's tennis program has been cited as having the fourth-best recruiting class in the nation among mid-major programs by TennisRecruiting.net. The mid-major rankings include all colleges in all divisions except for those in the "major conferences". The major conferences for tennis include schools affiliated with Bowl Championship Series conferences - the ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, and SEC - as well as the Ivy League.

The Bearcats signed a pair of four-star recruits (five stars is the top ranking), both of whom will be freshman this coming fall. Lauren Bates (Buffalo, N.Y.) is currently a senior at Kenmore West High School. She is ranked 122 in the country among high school seniors according to TennisRecruiting.net.
