Women's tennis drops a dual match to Rutgers, 7-0

WEST POINT, N.Y.-- Visting Binghamton (1-2) was defeated by Rutgers (2-0), 7-0 on Saturday morning at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center in a dual match hosted by Army.

Rutgers, a member of the BIG EAST Conference, swept all six of the singles matches in straight sets. The Scarlet Knights also won two of three of the doubles matches.

The Bearcats started the doubles matches off on the right foot, getting a win in first doubles by the freshmen tandem of Anna Edelman (Great Neck, N.Y.) and Lauren Bates (Buffalo, N.Y.). The duo knocked off sophomore Polina Zaretser and freshman Amy Zhang by a score of 8-5.

Binghamton will return to action at Temple on February 9.
