BU women's tennis defeats St. Bonaventure 7-0
Bearcats record fourth straight win

VESTAL, N.Y.-- Binghamton (5-4) swept the doubles point and lost just eight games in six singles matches en route to a 7-0 shutout win over visiting St. Bonaventure (3-9) Tuesday afternoon at the Events Center. It was the fourth straight win for the Bearcats.

The freshman tandem of Anna Edelman (Great Neck, N.Y.) and Lauren Bates (Buffalo, N.Y.) continued their outstanding play at both singles and doubles. The pair teamed for an 8-2 win at first doubles before each won her singles match in straight sets. Edelman posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, and Bates rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at the second spot.

Binghamton heads to Florida to face Bethune Cookman on March 26 at 2 p.m.

NOTES: Edelman and Bates are now 20-3 at No. 1 doubles. The freshman duo is ranked No. 15 in the ITA East Region ... Bates improves to 20-4 in singles play.
