women's tennis sweeps Wisconsin-Whitewater 7-0
HILTON
HEAD, S.C.-The Binghamton women's tennis team (6-4) won its first
of three matches on its spring road trip on Monday, sweeping
Wisconsin-Whitewater (7-7) 7-0. Binghamton won all six singles
matches and two out of three doubles matches.
With her 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles over Kristin Chamberlin,
sophomore Zeynep
Altinay (Antayla, Turkey) raised her singles
record to 21-4 for the season. She has now won 12 of her last
13 matches, all at No. 1 singles. In addition, fellow sophomore
Jelena
Koprivica (Belgrade, Serbia) improved
to 17-5 for the season with her 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Autumn
Wilkowski at No. 2 singles.
Binghamton plays at Savannah State on Tuesday at 8 a.m. The Bearcats
close out the spring trip on Wednesday with an 8 a.m. match against
Towson.
