Radzik places third at Albany Cross Country Invitational

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Freshman Katie Radzik (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) continued her outstanding season with a third-place finish at the Albany Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. As a team, the Binghamton women were sixth (out of 23 teams) while the men were 14th (out of 27 teams).

Radzik, who has been Binghamton's top runner in every race this season, covered the 5,000-meter course in 17:46. Senior Stacy Kramer (Loudonville, N.Y.) was Binghamton's second runner, finishing 17th overall (18:22). Junior Mary Tursi (Staten Island, N.Y.) was 42nd (19:03), freshman Elizabeth Sweeney (West Henrietta, N.Y.) was 67th (19:31.3) and freshman Jamie Schulte (Tucson, Ariz) was 69th (19:31.9). There were 186 runners in the women's race.

On the men's side, junior
Jeff Herbert (Somerville, N.J.) was Binghamton's top runner in the 8,000-meter race, finishing 32nd with a time of 25:51. Freshman Ryan Shon (Miller Place, N.Y.) was Binghamton's second runner, placing 57th (26:19). Senior Prahlad Genung (Afton, N.Y.) was 90th (26:53).

Binghamton hosts the America East Conference Championships on Oct. 29.
