VESTAL, N.Y.--Junior Lindsey Bohrer-Yardley (Oneida, N.Y./Vernon/Verona/Sherrill) and sophomore Erica Angell (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Speckenkill) placed second and third respectively, leading the Binghamton women's cross country team to the team title in the Syracuse Big Orange Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The Bearcats won the seven-team meet with 17 points, beating runner-up UMass-Amherst by 18 points. In the men's meet, Binghamton was fourth with 85 points.
"Today was a great turnout for the women's team," head coach Annette Acuff said. "We were missing Kathryn Murnane, one of our top runners, but we had a couple of other runners really step up."

Freshman Taryn Menard (Cicero, N.Y./ Cicero North) was sixth (20:19), sophomore Allison Furey (Smyra, N.Y./ Sherburne-Earlville) was seventh (20:21) and freshman Mary Tursi (Staten Island, N.Y./ St/ John's Villa) completed the scoring with a ninth-place finish (20:30).
