Radzik captures ECAC Cross Country Championship
Sophomore paces field of 166 runners to capture BU's first ECAC Division I title

NEW YORK, N.Y.--Sophomore Katie Radzik (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) won the women's race, highlighting the Binghamton cross country teams' performances at the season-ending ECAC/IC4A Championships on Saturday. The women finished third while the men came in at second overall in the 19-team field.

Radzik won the women's 5K ECAC race in a time of 18:02, a full 26 seconds ahead of her closest competitor. She becomes the first Binghamton runner to win the ECAC Division I title. A total of 166 runners took part in the women's race.

Senior Mary Tursi (Staten Island, N.Y.) was 18th (19:18) while sophomore Jaime Schulte (Tucson, Ariz) was 22nd (19:22) and freshman Kelda Nelson (Hillsborough, N.J.) was 26th (19:26).

On the men's side, freshman Chris Gaube (Vestal, N.Y.), a 2006 graduate of nearby Vestal High School, was 18th in the men's five-mile IC4A race (26:38). Senior Jeff Herbert (Somerville, N.J.) was 22nd (26:49) and sophomore Adam Hill (Delmar, N.Y.) was 27th.
