VESTAL, N.Y.--Senior Lindsey Bohrer-Yardley (Oneida, N.Y.) and juniors Erica Angel (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), and Stacy Kramer (Loudonville, N.Y.) tied for first in the women's race and sophomore Jeff Herbert (Somerville, N.J.), placed ninth in the men's race, highlighting the Binghamton cross country teams' home meet against Syracuse and Colgate on Saturday morning. The women's team won the three-team meet with 37 points while the men were third in their meet with 67 points.

The winning trio in the women's meet crossed the finish line with a time of 19:31 for the 5,000 course. Sophomore Mary Tursi (Staten Island, N.Y.) was 15th (20:45) and junior
Allison Furey (Smyrna, N.Y.) was 16th (also 20:45).

"I'm happy with how we did on the women's side," head coach Annette Acuff said. "We were missing Katherine Murnane, one of our top runners, who has been sick this week. Still we have a very strong top four runners. We are looking for the other runners to close the gap. Allison ran very well today, considering this was her first race of the year."

There were 33 runners in the women's race. Syracuse was second in the team standings with 41 points while Colgate finished third with 45 points.

Syracuse won the men's meet with 23 points but Mike Hanlon of Colgate was the individual winner with a time of 25:25 for the 8,000 meter course. The Red Raiders were second with 37 points. There were 25 runners in the men's race.v

Herbert crossed the line with a time of 27:12. He was followed by senior Pete Chambers (Newark, N.Y.), who was 10th (27:15), senior Sergey Shteyn (Staten Island, N.Y.) who was 15th (27:42), sophomore Mike Wlodarski (Syracuse, N.Y.) who was 16th (27:49) and junior Prahlad Genung (Afton, N.Y.), who was 17th (28:05).

Up next, both the men's and women's teams head to Lehigh University next Saturday for the prestigious Paul Short Run. The meet will start at 10 a.m.
