|Bearcats compete in Lehigh Paul Short Run|
Women's Official Results
Bethlehem, Pa. -- The Binghamton women's cross country team continued its impressive season with a performance at the prestigious Lehigh Paul Short Run which showed singnificant imporvement over last season. After finishing 17th out of 23 schools last year, the Bearcats were 14th out of 32 teams this season.
On the womens side, sophomore Lindsey Bohrer-Yardley (Oneida, N.Y./ Vernon-Verona Sherrill) placed 53rd in a field of 224 with a time of 22:23 for the 6,000 meter course. It marked an improvement of 24 seconds over her 2002 time. of 19:13 on the 5K course. Sophomore Kathryn Murnane (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Oceanside), was 64th overall (22:31) while sophomore Erica Angell (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Speckenkill) was 73rd with a time of 22:38. As opposed to last season, when Binghamton's second-fastest runner placed 114th, the team had all five scoring runners finish in the top 120 of the race.
The men's team, meanwhile, finished 30th out of 33 competing teams. Junior Peter Chambers (Newark, N.Y.) was Binghamton's top finisher, placing 107th for the 8,000 meter course in a time of 26:09.
